Artist, researcher. Studied photography and media technologies; specializes in biological and digital imaging. Co-founder (with O.Catts) of the Tissue Culture and Art Project (1996) - an integrated research project within contemporary art involving tissue technologies. The project was presented at various contemporary art exhibitions and festivals, including the following ones: the Melbourne International Festival (Melbourne, 1998), Bienal de Artes Visuais do Mercosul (Porto Alegre, 1999), the Perth International Arts Festival (Perth, 2000), Ars Electronica (Linz, 2000 and 2001), Deluxe Media Art (Sydney, 2000), Adelaide Biennale of Australian Arts (Adelaide, 2002) the European Media Art Festival (Osnabrueck, 2003) and others. Writings on wet technologies published in various scientific and art magazines, incl. "Tissue Engineering" (2000), "Take Over Ars Electronica" (2001), "Thresholds Magazine" (2002), "Art Link Australia" (2002), "Leonardo Magazine" (2002) and others. Participated in international contemporary art conferences in USA, Canada, France, Austria, Great Britain and others. Conducted presentations and delivered lectures at such educational institutions as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston), the Ohio State University (Ohio), the Art Institute of Chicago (Chicago), the New York University (New York), the Oxford University (Oxford) and others. During 2000-2001 was research fellow at The Tissue Engineering and Organ Fabrication Laboratory, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Currently is working on her PhD in the residence of SymbioticA - the Art and Science Collaborative Research Laboratory at the School of Anatomy and Human Biology, the University of Western Australia (Perth, Australia).
